Leaders Case Colors at Fort Drum Ceremony

On July 14, the 2nd Brigade Combat Team (BCT) of the 10th Mountain Division held a ceremony at Fort Drum to case their colors ahead of an upcoming deployment. The event marked a significant milestone for the brigade, as it signifies their readiness to deploy and serve. The colors, a symbolic representation of the brigade's history and lineage, were cased and will be uncased upon their arrival at their destination.

During the ceremony, the brigade's commander, Col. Scott Wence, addressed the formation, highlighting the brigade's nine-month deployment across eight bases. He emphasized the importance of the mission and the brigade's unwavering commitment to serving their country with honor and distinction. According to 10th Mountain Division leadership, the 2nd BCT has a proven track record of success, having shot down 93 enemy attacks in previous deployments.

The ceremony also included a special recognition of the brigade's outgoing commander, Col. Harris. Harris relinquished command to the incoming commander, Col. [Insert incoming commander's name]. Col. Wence, who previously served as Commando 6, also spoke at the ceremony, sharing his insights on the legacy and history of the unit.
