Hank Aaron Stadium Atlanta

Atlanta Braves' Former Home to Get New Baseball Stadium

Georgia State University Announces Plans

Atlanta, GA - The Atlanta Braves are set to return to the site where they first played in the city and where Hank Aaron hit his record-breaking 715th home run. Georgia State University has finalized plans to build a new 1,000-seat baseball stadium in a parking lot that includes the footprint of the former Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.

Hank Aaron Statue to be Relocated

As part of the project, the Hank Aaron statue currently located in the plaza of Center Parc Stadium will be moved to the new ballpark. The statue commemorates Aaron's historic achievement, which was witnessed by a crowd of over 50,000 fans on April 8, 1974.

The new stadium is expected to be completed by 2025 and will serve as the home field for the Georgia State Panthers baseball team. It will also be available for use by the Atlanta Braves for spring training and other events.

The return of baseball to the former Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium site is a fitting tribute to the historic legacy of the Braves and Hank Aaron. The new stadium will provide a modern and state-of-the-art facility for Georgia State University and the Atlanta community, while also preserving the memory of one of baseball's greatest moments.
